Welcome to Applause Dancewear, the "one stop shop for all your dancing needs"! Applause is a dance retailer located in the heart of Homewood, Alabama. Family owned and operated since 1981, we service Central Alabama with quality customer service and products.
Applause stocks over 2700 square feet of retail space with leading brands in the dance industry. Our top venders include Capezio, Bloch, So Danca, Eurotard, Body Wrappers, Nikolay, Oh La La, Every Turn, Energetiks, Ballet Rosa, and many more!

Katie Wade Faught and Erica Thomason
Katie Faught-Owner
Katie began her dancing career at two years old! She sold her first leotard when her parents, Buddy and Cindy Wade, opened Applause in 1981. She joined the Homewood Star Spangled Girls Dance Team in high school before attending the University of Alabama. Katie came back to Birmingham in 1992 where she took over Applause. She is a loving wife and mother to two adult boys, Hogan and Wade.

Erica Thomason-Manager
Erica began dancing at the age of three at Dale Serrano Dance Studios. She continued her dance career with competitive dancing at Encore Performance Company, cheered at Minor High School, taught classes at several dance studios, and was a member of the UAB Golden Girls. Erica has worked for Applause since 2007 and is a loving wife and mother to Hudson and Lily.

Emma
Emma goes to UAB and is a four year member of the Blazerette dance team. She has worked for us since October 2022. Emma has extensive experience in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical and kick.

Suzan
Suzan is a high school senior and has been working for us since July 2023. She has danced for 12 years with experience in multiple styles. Suzan specializes in Arabic dance, which she teaches, choreographs, and performs. She assists with performances at the Lebanese Food Festival.

Ally is a freshman at UAB with 16 years of dance experience. She specializes in ballet, modern, contemporary, and traditional Chinese dance. Ally started working with us in July 2024.

Sarah is a high school student and has worked for us since July 2024. She specalizes in ballet/pointe with experience in contemperary, lyrical, ballroom, hiphop, jazz, modern, and tap.
